iQOO 16 Review 2026: Specs, Price & India Launch

iQOO 16 – Prices and specifications checked on 25 October 2026.

The iQOO 16 is shaping up to be a serious flagship smartphone for users who want powerful gaming performance, a premium display and long battery life. With a next-generation Snapdragon processor, a 165Hz AMOLED screen and an 8,400mAh battery, it has plenty to attract power users. Here is what Indian buyers should know about its specifications, expected price and India availability before making a purchase.

iQOO 16 Display and Processor Performance

The iQOO 16 features a 6.85-inch Samsung M16 AMOLED display with 2K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. The high refresh rate should make supported games, animations and scrolling look smoother, while the high-resolution panel should provide sharp text and detailed images.

Under the hood, the phone uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, paired with a dedicated Q4 gaming chip. It is designed for demanding games, multitasking and other processor-intensive workloads. The phone also uses a vapour-chamber cooling system to manage heat during extended gaming sessions. Reported configurations include up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage. These specifications make it an interesting option for gamers and users who keep several applications open.

iQOO 16 Camera and Battery

The rear camera system consists of three 50MP cameras: a primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS), an ultrawide camera and a periscope telephoto camera. The telephoto lens supports 3x optical zoom, making it useful for portraits and distant subjects. A 32MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.

Camera megapixels alone do not determine image quality. Low-light performance, skin tones, video stabilisation and image processing will need real-world testing before the phone can be recommended over established camera-focused flagships.

Battery life is another major highlight. The iQOO 16 packs an 8,400mAh battery with 100W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. The large capacity should appeal to gamers and heavy users, although actual endurance will depend on screen brightness, network conditions and gaming time.

The phone also offers IP68 and IP69-rated protection against dust and water under specified test conditions.

iQOO 16 Price in India and Software

The iQOO 16 launched in China on 29 September 2026. Its starting Chinese price is CNY 5,999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model. That converts to roughly ₹86,000, but it is not the official Indian price.

iQOO has confirmed that the phone is coming to India, but the official Indian price and sale date have not yet been announced as of 25 October 2026. The device runs Android 17 with OriginOS 7 in China. Indian buyers should confirm the software, warranty and specifications of the Indian variant before purchasing.

Final Verdict: Should You Wait for iQOO 16?

The iQOO 16 looks promising for users who prioritise gaming, display quality and battery capacity. Its flagship processor, high-refresh-rate screen and versatile triple-camera setup give it the potential to compete in the premium smartphone segment.

However, the expected high price could be a limitation, and Indian buyers should not assume that the Chinese price will translate directly into the Indian retail price. Camera performance, long-term software support and the final India variant also need confirmation.

Our recommendation: If you want a powerful gaming-focused flagship, wait for the official Indian launch and compare the final price with competing premium phones. If you need a phone immediately, consider currently available alternatives rather than buying an imported model without checking warranty support.
