Juggling separate bills for your TV and mobile connections is a hassle. A combo plan puts them on one bill, and it can also lower what you pay. However right now, the strongest DTH-plus-mobile option in India is Airtel Black.

How Airtel Black works

Airtel Black bundles DTH, postpaid mobile and fiber broadband into a single bill. You can choose a fixed bundle or build a custom one. In a custom bundle, combining any two service categories saves ₹100 a month, and each extra service adds another ₹100 off.

Fixed bundles to know

Airtel’s May 2026 blog promotes a ₹2,099 best-seller. It includes one 200 Mbps fiber connection, three postpaid connections and one DTH connection with ₹500 worth of channels. Airtel’s original 2021 launch also included a ₹998 plan with two mobile connections and one DTH connection. Prices and inclusions change by circle and over time, so check the current rates before you recharge.

Who should choose a combo?

Families with several SIMs: A custom plan can bundle up to six Airtel postpaid parent connections, which is enough for most households.

Existing Airtel customers: Each existing connection needs a minimum rental of ₹399 to join the bundle, so check that your current plans qualify.

Anyone tired of multiple due dates: You view and pay the whole bundle in the Bill section of the Airtel Thanks app.

Costs to watch

A new DTH connection has an upfront cost. Activation typically costs ₹1,500 including GST and is non-refundable. Airtel’s FAQ says installation can be free if you pay a ₹2,500 advance, which is adjusted against your bills. You also cannot pause one service temporarily inside a bundle. If you remove a service, the discount tied to it goes too.

What about other DTH operators?

As of March 2026, Tata Play (30.9%) and Airtel Digital TV (28.4%) lead the pay-DTH market, followed by Sun Direct and Dish TV. Tata Play’s strength is TV-plus-OTT packs, such as its Binge package, rather than mobile bundles. If you want one bill for TV and mobile, Airtel is the clearer choice today. If you mainly want more OTT on your TV, look at Tata Play.

Final verdict

If your home has a DTH connection and two or more postpaid SIMs, an Airtel Black bundle is worth costing out. Add up your current bills, subtract the ₹100 discounts and include the one-time DTH cost. Switch only if the total comes out lower.

Note: Plans, prices and offers vary by region and can change. Verify on Airtel’s official website or app before purchase.
